CFWS ARTISTS EXHIBITING
"The Central Florida Six", local award winning watercolorists l to r: Bob Hague, Ken Austin, Chauncey Nelson, Ralph Dunagin, Katherine Davis, and seated, Ellen Smith, all members of CFWS, are presenting their work in a exhibition at Orlando City Hall in the Terrace Gallery through March 23, 2012. Admission is free to the public with all of the paintings available for sale through the artist. Three of these artists were awarded top honors in the 2011 CFWS Member Show. This is a great opportunity for the public to experience the work of these accomplished artists in a unique setting. A New Beginning January 27 - February 23. New watercolors by Stewart Jones were unveiled in his Gallery on First Studio. Studio 1. A traditional landscape painter, Jones presents the world as seen through the eyes of a maturing watercolorist. CFWS Annual Member Show: February 16 - March 9, 2012. "Expressions of BOK Tower Gardens" show at Bok Tower Gardens, March 29th thru July. Online Gallery. Watercolor Impressions - a show opening April 24, 2012 and hosted at the Garden House, Leu Gardens. Accepted work to drop off at Leu Gardens on or before April 20. WORKSHOPS A one-day workshop with Tom Jones sponsored by the Artists League of Orange County on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9-3 at the Casselberry Art House. Two Saturdays each month a different topic and subject will be demonstrated. Each workshop participant will work along as the demonstration is completed step-by-step. Stewart is also offering plein-air workshop experiences now that the weather is cooler. Students may elect to take one session or more. New Ideas in Watercolor and Acrylic are necessity since the new rules apply in the Florida Watercolor Society, Nancy McDonald is teaching the combination of the two medias. She worked in Acrylic for many years doing research in acrylics before they were even on the market in the USA. Watercolor is my media but now combining them is a wonderful idea. Roberta Lerman Watercolor Classes has some openings in her art and watercolor class on Wednesdays from 12:15 to 2:45. The classes are ongoing, not divided into sessions, and take place at the Maitland Senior Center, Maitland Avenue. There is a demo at the beginning of each class.
